Fatal Charlotte Motorcycle Accident

Police said that a motorcyclist who lost control of his 2002 Harley Davidson in southeast Charlotte on Wednesday night died from his injuries.

The accident occurred in Queens Road’s 1300 block at 7:49 PM on Wednesday, March 2.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said the motorcyclist, identified as Devin James Borders, was traveling south on Queens Road just past Granville Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control and ran off the road into the grass median to his left.

Borders was taken from the bike after the motorcycle fell on its left side through grass.

Borders was transported by Charlotte Fire and Medic to Atrium Main after sustaining serious injuries. Authorities reported that he died from the injuries he sustained in the accident at 8:10 pm.

Although it is not known if impairment was a factor in the crash, toxicology results are still being analyzed. Police believe speed was a factor in the crash.

CMPD stated that the next of kin was notified. The case is still open and active. Anybody with more information is requested to contact Det. Kupfer at 704-432-2169.
